Not Just Making It Look Pretty
Design is much deeper than a combination of visual elements. My goal as a designer is to create products that have strong business value. Connecting good design with meaningful metrics to validate every decision.
My Story
Six months ago I was working 70-90+ hours a week as a corporate tax accountant. I had been grinding it out at a job where I found no reward for the past two years. Today, not much has changed hour-wise, but I’m enjoying every moment of this new journey.
Early April of this year, I was introduced to design while on a work hiatus to study for my CPA. Since the introduction, I’ve quit my accounting job - sparking my quarter-life crisis - and have been devoting myself 100% to pursuing design as my career. I have had the privilege of learning from some great designers here in the Bay area and am always learning and seeking more knowledge.
My background is deeply rooted in the fine arts. I spent 10 years learning how to apply design concepts to different forms of creative expression at Shuchih Art Studio. My specialties were painting (watercolor & oil) and sketching. During my time there, I studied and practiced the techniques and principles of art including balance, unity, composition, lighting, contrast, patterns, emphasis, movement, and rhythm.
Currently training to be an airline pilot (commercially rated as of 4/15/18), but shoot me an email if you'd like to work with me, or just say hello!
